Captain J. S. Thompson - Rocky Mountain News - January 4, 1895 - Pueblo, Colorado - J. S. Thompson Passes Away - Captain J. S. Thompson, a prominent paper and woodenware merchant of this city, died at 6 o'clock this morning at the age of 57 years. He had been in ill health for some time, but his condition did not become critical until last Wednesday. He was a native of Orange County, N. C. Before coming to Pueblo, twenty-one years ago, he made his home in Missouri and Mississippi for a number of years. During the war he served in the confederate army. He leaves a widow, a son and two daughters. The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. tomorrow under the auspices of the Elks and the A. O. U. W.
